This is the Aethera drum lampshade in Dark Beige, a wide, shallow drum in a warm taupe shade with a white underside. It measures 45cm across and 14cm deep, so it sits low and broad rather than tall. You receive the shade only. The lamp holder and the bulb are not included, and the shade needs one of our Aethera ceiling lamp holders or pendant light fittings, sold separately, before it becomes a working light. Think of it as the half of a modular light that sets the look, while your choice of fitting decides how it hangs.

Paired with a ceiling lamp holder, the drum sits close to the ceiling and gives a living room, bedroom or hallway a broad ceiling light without the bulk of a deep shade. On a pendant fitting it hangs lower, and a wide, shallow drum suits the space over a dining table or a reading chair. Dark Beige is a warm neutral that sits comfortably beside oak, linen, cream walls and grey textiles, keeping a room calm rather than stark. Because the shade and the fitting are bought separately, you can change the look of a room later by swapping the shade and keeping the fitting in place.

The colour is on the outside and the underside is white, so from below you see a clean white face framed by the beige rim.
