The Aethera 3 Light ceiling lamp holder is the white body of a flush ceiling light, built to carry one large Aethera lampshade from the same range. Three short cylindrical E27 lamp holders spread out from a round ceiling plate, and the whole fitting measures 24cm across and 6cm deep. Please note what arrives in the box: the lamp holder alone. The lampshade is sold separately and the bulbs are not included, so it becomes a finished light only once you add an Aethera shade and three E27 bulbs. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where you want one generous shade close to the ceiling rather than a pendant on a long drop. The body itself is only 6cm deep, so almost all the height of the finished light comes from the shade you choose. Because the three holders are spaced apart, the bulbs sit across the width of the shade rather than bunched at one central point, and the maker describes the emission as diffuse. The plain white finish sits quietly against a painted ceiling, which leaves the shade free to set the look of the room.

Each of the three E27 lamp holders takes a bulb of up to 15W, and the fitting is not dimmable, so it is not one to put on a dimmer switch.
