Description

The Aethera 1 Light E27 Pendant is the body of a pendant light: a white ceiling rose, a length of white flex and a white E27 lamp holder, sold without its shade. On its own it is not a complete light. To finish it, add an Aethera lampshade and diffuser disc from the same range, sold separately, and an E27 bulb of your choosing, because neither the lampshade, the diffuser disc nor the bulb comes in the box. The ceiling rose is 9cm across and the lamp holder 4.5cm across. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Because the drop adjusts anywhere from 32.7cm to 204.5cm, the same fitting works over a dining table, in a stairwell with a high ceiling, or in a hallway where the light needs to sit well clear of heads. The plain white finish keeps the hardware quiet against a white ceiling, so the eye goes to the shade you choose rather than the fitting holding it. That makes it a sensible choice for anyone building a look around the Aethera range, or for replacing a tired pendant in a living room, bedroom or study with something neat and simple.

It takes one E27 bulb of up to 42W, and the bulb is not included. It is not dimmable, so it belongs on a standard light switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V AC and works in room temperatures from 0°C to 40°C. The whole fitting weighs just 0.35KG. As with any mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician; once it is in place, the drop can be set to suit the room and the shade added to finish it.
