The Aethera pendant light fitting in brass is the working body of a pendant: a round brass ceiling rose, a black flex and a cylindrical brass E27 lamp holder 45mm across. It arrives without a lampshade, a diffuser disc or a bulb, so on its own it is not yet a complete light. Add a lampshade or diffuser disc from the Aethera range, both sold separately, and an E27 bulb to finish it. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Because the drop adjusts anywhere from 327mm to 2045mm, the same fitting can hang low over a dining table, sit close to the ceiling in a bedroom or living room, or fall a long way into a stairwell or a tall hallway. The brass finish brings warmth to a room even when the light is off, and the black flex gives it a crisp line against a pale ceiling. It suits anyone who would rather choose the shade separately, or who wants the freedom to change the shade later without replacing the whole pendant. Buying the body and shade as two pieces also means a row of matching brass fittings can each wear a different shade from the range.

The lamp holder takes a standard E27 bulb up to 42W, bought separately, and the fitting is not dimmable, so it belongs on an ordinary switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V AC mains and is rated for rooms between 0°C and 40°C. The whole set weighs 0.35KG. As a mains product, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
