The Aethera 1 Light E27 Ceiling Lamp Holder is the body of a modular ceiling light: a round white ceiling rose with a short cylindrical holder beneath it, 85mm across and 90mm tall. It arrives without a lampshade and without a bulb, so on its own it is not a complete light. To finish it, you add an Aethera lampshade from the same range, sold separately, and an E27 bulb of your choice. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.

Because it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging low, it suits rooms where a pendant would feel in the way: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a study. The white finish keeps the fitting quiet against a white ceiling, so the shade you choose carries the look of the room. We like the freedom that gives you. The shade is a separate choice, so you can pick the Aethera lampshade that suits the room today and swap it for another from the same range later, without replacing the fitting on the ceiling.
