Description
The Aegean is a table lamp built around a polished brass cage base formed from twelve curved brass ribs that taper from a wide oval centre to narrow tops and bottoms. Cut crystal discs sit above and below the cage, acting as visual anchors that catch and refract light from the single E27 bulb inside the ivory fabric shade. The lamp stands on a polished brass plinth that mirrors the finish of the cage.
Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways, and side tables in living rooms, the Aegean provides ambient task light through a knife-pleated ivory fabric shade that diffuses the bulb output into a soft, even glow. The shade measures approximately 400mm diameter at the base, tapering to 300mm at the top, giving the lamp a total height of around 700mm from plinth to finial. The brass cage base adds decorative interest when the lamp is off, and creates layered reflections when lit.
The polished brass finish is a high-gloss yellow metal that reflects both natural and artificial light, creating warm highlights across the curved ribs. The cut crystal discs are faceted to catch light from multiple angles, adding sparkle without the weight of a full crystal base. The ivory shade fabric is a medium-weight cotton-linen blend with tight knife pleats running vertically, which give structure to the shade and prevent sagging over time. The lamp accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Aegean takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this lamp with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for bedside or living room use.
Can the shade be removed for cleaning?
Yes. The shade lifts off the harp for dusting or spot-cleaning. The knife-pleated fabric can be vacuumed gently with an upholstery brush attachment or spot-cleaned with a barely-damp cloth. Do not submerge the shade in water.
What's the footprint of the base?
The polished brass plinth measures approximately 150mm diameter, giving a stable footprint for bedside tables and console tables without occupying excessive surface area. The widest point of the brass cage is around 200mm.
Is the polished brass lacquered?
Polished brass is typically lacquered to prevent tarnishing. Over time the lacquer may wear in high-contact areas. If tarnish appears, use a soft cloth with brass polish formulated for lacquered finishes, following the manufacturer's instructions.
