Description

The Aegean is an 8-light chandelier built on a polished nickel frame with hand-forged scrollwork and cut glass droplets beneath each candle sleeve. Eight E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit in polished metal candle sleeves arranged evenly around a central cage structure, with curved arms extending outward from a 650mm diameter spread. The polished nickel finish gives a mirror-like reflection that brightens as the lights are switched on.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces, the Aegean suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The chandelier hangs from an adjustable chain that can be shortened or lengthened on installation between 550mm and 1810mm drop, allowing it to be positioned 750-900mm above a dining table or 2-2.5m above floor level in a hallway. The ceiling canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain conceals the cable run.

Each of the eight arms curves outward from the central cage in a symmetrical scroll pattern, with a small cut glass droplet suspended below each candle sleeve. The glass catches and refracts light when the chandelier is lit, adding movement to the otherwise static metal frame. The polished nickel finish pairs with both traditional interiors (alongside darker woods and rich fabrics) and contemporary schemes where chrome, glass and neutral tones dominate. The 650mm width gives presence without overwhelming a typical 4-6 seater dining table or a 2-3m wide entrance hall.

The chandelier takes eight E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to achieve the candle effect without excess heat.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable chain allows a drop between 550mm and 1810mm. For a dining table, position the chandelier 750-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For entrance halls, hang 2-2.5m above floor level to allow headroom.

Can the chain be shortened after installation?

The chain is adjustable on installation only. Once the ceiling canopy is fixed and the excess chain concealed, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing the chandelier from the ceiling rose and re-installing.

How is the polished nickel finish maintained?

Polished nickel shows fingerprints and water marks more readily than brushed finishes. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but dry immediately to avoid water spots. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that can scratch the mirror finish.
