Description

Three opal glass shades sit close against a satin black backplate, giving a broad spread of soft light without dropping into the room. The glass is opal throughout, so the G9 capsules behind it read as a gentle glow rather than bright points, and the black metalwork keeps the outline crisp against a pale ceiling. It sits shallow, nearer a disc than a dome, which keeps head height clear in rooms that cannot take a drop. At 50cm across, it covers a good deal of ground for a fitting that stays tight overhead.

We reach for this one in hallways, landings and bedrooms where a pendant would hang in the way, and it works equally well over a kitchen table in a room with a lower ceiling. The spread of shades lets you light a decent stretch of corridor from a single point. If you would rather have an even wash of light than a spotlit look, this is the kind of fitting to pick. It will dim, provided the G9 capsules you choose are dimmable ones themselves, and we stock LED capsules to suit.

The shades are glass and the frame metal in a satin black finish, a low sheen that hides marks better than gloss.
