Description
The Adastra V-242 is a mixer-amplifier built for distributed audio across two independent zones. It runs a class-D amplifier section and gives you a choice of 100V line or low impedance output, so it works with both long-run public address speakers and standard 4-8 Ohm loudspeakers. Each zone has its own rotary source selector and separate bass and treble EQ, letting you set up different sound in different parts of a venue from a single unit.
Source options are broad. There is a built-in audio player with Bluetooth 5.0, a DAB+/FM receiver and a USB/SD MP3 player, which covers background music and spoken announcements without extra hardware. On the input side you get three balanced mic/line channels that stay live to both zones at all times, with switchable +20V phantom power and selectable priority on channel 1 for paging. Channels 1-3 accept front jack, or rear XLR (combo) and screw terminal connections. Two unbalanced RCA line inputs and an auxiliary input (RCA or 3.5mm) feed into each zone's selector.
Speaker connections use screw terminal blocks with 100V, 8 Ohm, 4 Ohm and COM terminals. Each zone also has an unbalanced RCA line output, so you can pass audio on to further amplifiers if you need to grow the system later. With its mix of inputs and playback options, the V-242 suits installers and venue owners running audio in commercial and leisure settings. It measures 435 x 273 x 88mm with the feet removed, so it fits a standard rack space.

Frequently Asked
Can the V-242 run two separate areas at once?
Yes. It has two independent 100V or low impedance zones, each with its own source selector and bass and treble EQ, so you can play different audio and set different levels in each area.
What audio sources are built in?
There is a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, a DAB+/FM tuner and a USB/SD MP3 player. This lets you play streamed music, radio or files stored on a card or drive without adding extra equipment.
Does it support paging priority?
Yes. The three mic/line channels stay live to both zones at all times, and channel 1 has selectable priority so an announcement can override other audio.
What speaker loads can I connect?
The screw terminal outputs offer 100V line, 8 Ohm and 4 Ohm options with a COM terminal, so it works with both 100V line speakers and standard low impedance loudspeakers.
Can I expand the system beyond this unit?
Each zone has an unbalanced RCA line output, so you can feed further amplifiers if you need more zones or more power later on.
Is phantom power available for microphones?
Yes. The XLR inputs have switchable +20V phantom power for condenser microphones that need it.
