Description

The Adastra RS121 is a 100V line slave amplifier built for medium to large installations. It takes standard line level audio from a mixer or an RM series mixer amplifier, then drives your speaker runs from a compact, rack-mountable housing. As a Class-D design it stays efficient and lightweight, so it slots into a 19" rack without adding needless weight or heat to the system.

Connections are flexible. Line level inputs run through RCA sockets (phono) or hard-wired removable screw terminals, also known as Euroblock, so you can wire it your way. A separate screw terminal handles 100V input, which lets the RS121 extend an existing 100V installation by connecting straight to the speaker feed, including long distance feeds over standard double-insulated cable. Slave outputs can be cascaded onto further RS slaves, so you can build larger systems as your needs grow. A 24V terminal connects to a security or alert panel and mutes the output during alarm triggering.

Speaker outputs are switchable between 100V and low impedance on the RS121, with low impedance stable down to 2 Ohms. That means you can connect multiple low impedance speakers if you prefer, or stay on the 100V line for longer runs and simpler wiring. Frequency response is 90Hz-20kHz on 100V and 17Hz-90kHz at 2 Ohms, with THD below 1.0%. A single master volume control keeps operation straightforward. The RS121 runs from a 175-264Vac 50Hz IEC supply, so it fits into most standard mains setups without fuss.

Frequently Asked

What does the RS121 slave amplifier do?

It takes line level audio from a mixer or RM series mixer amplifier and drives 100V or low impedance speakers. It can also extend an existing 100V system or expand a setup by cascading onto further RS slaves.

Can I use low impedance speakers as well as 100V?

Yes. Speaker outputs on the RS121 are switchable between 100V and low impedance, and the low impedance side is stable down to 2 Ohms, so you can run multiple speakers if preferred.

What connections are available for the inputs?

Line level inputs use RCA sockets (phono) or removable screw terminals (Euroblock). A separate screw terminal accepts 100V input for extending an existing installation.

How does the alarm mute work?

A 24V terminal connects to a security or alert panel. When an alarm is triggered, it mutes the amplifier output.

How is the RS121 mounted?

It fits a standard 19" rack. The RS121 is a 1U unit, part of a range that also includes 2U models in the RS series.

What power supply does it need?

It runs from a 175-264Vac 50Hz mains supply via IEC connector, suiting most standard installations.
