Description
The Adastra RM480D is a 5-channel 100V mixer-amplifier built for commercial sound installations. It powers 100V line speakers or standard low-impedance speakers down to a 4 Ohm load, so it suits a wide range of setups from shops and cafes to larger multi-room venues. The unit fits a standard 19" rack in a 2U space, and the rack ears are supplied. Output is handled across 4 switchable zones plus a separate 'always on' output for priority alert speakers, giving you control over which areas receive audio.
Input options cover most needs on site. There is an XLR input with switchable +20V phantom power, 2 mic/line jack inputs, 2 RCA line inputs, and 1 RCA line output. The onboard media player brings together a DAB+/FM radio tuner, front-mounted USB and SD ports, and a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver with a unique serial ID for easy pairing management. A switchable VOX voiceover feature automatically lowers the background music when a signal is detected on mic input 1, which is handy for announcements over music.
Front panel controls include separate level controls for mic 1, mic/line 2+3 and line 4+5, along with bass, treble and master volume. The bass equaliser works at 100Hz (±10dB) and the treble at 10kHz (±10dB). For life-safety and priority use, the rear panel carries 24V emergency mute contacts that silence all inputs except mic 1 when triggered. The RM480D runs from 230Vac mains or a 24Vdc backup supply via screw terminals, so it can stay working during a power interruption when paired with a suitable battery source.
