Description
The Adastra RM240D is a 5-channel mixer-amplifier built for commercial sound installations. It drives 100V line speakers across four switchable zones, plus a separate 'always on' output for priority alert speakers. You can also run standard low-impedance speakers down to a 4 Ohm load, with an optional 4-16 Ohm output for more flexibility. The unit is 2U 19" rack mountable and comes with rack ears supplied, so it fits neatly into an existing setup.
Input options cover most installation needs. There is an XLR input with switchable +20V phantom power, two mic/line jack inputs and two RCA line inputs, along with a single RCA line output. Built-in audio sources include a DAB+/FM radio tuner, front-mounted USB/SD ports and Bluetooth 5.0, all handled through an integrated media player for straightforward playback. The Bluetooth receiver carries a unique serial ID, which helps when several units share the same space. Front controls give you level for each channel group plus bass, treble and master volume.
A switchable VOX voiceover feature automatically lowers the background music when a signal is picked up on mic input 1, useful for paging and announcements. On the rear panel, 24V emergency mute contacts mute all inputs except mic 1 when triggered, tying the amp into a wider alarm or evacuation system. Power comes from 230Vac mains or a 24Vdc backup supply via screw terminals, so the RM240D keeps running during a mains failure. Note that US listings may refer to the amp as an 'amplifier' rather than 'mixer-amp', but the function is the same.

Frequently Asked
How many speaker zones does the RM240D support?
It has four switchable 100V outputs plus one unswitched output. The unswitched output is intended for priority alert speakers that should always stay on.
Can I use it with low-impedance speakers?
Yes. As well as 100V line operation, it can drive standard speakers down to a 4 Ohm load, with an optional 4-16 Ohm output setting.
What audio sources are built in?
A DAB+/FM radio tuner, a USB/SD player and a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, all controlled through the integrated media player.
How does the voiceover feature work?
The switchable VOX function automatically lowers the background music volume when a signal is detected on mic input 1, so announcements come through clearly.
Does it have a backup power option?
Yes. It runs from 230Vac mains or from a 24Vdc supply via screw terminals, so it can keep operating during a mains failure.
Is it suitable for rack mounting?
It is a 2U 19" rack mountable unit and the rack ears are supplied in the box.
