Description

The Adastra RH40V is a rectangular horn speaker built for public address work across large outdoor and indoor areas. It runs on a 100V line system, which lets you connect a long run of speakers to a single amplifier and keep the audio clear from one end to the other. A rotary tapping switch on the unit sets the power draw, so you can balance the load across a run and adjust the volume at each speaker to suit the space.

The housing is moulded from high impact ABS, giving it good resistance to knocks and to weather. With an IP66 rating it is sealed against dust and stands up to heavy water jets, so it is suited to car parks, forecourts, sports grounds and other exposed sites. The reflex loading and rectangular flared aperture (sometimes called the mouth or throat of the horn) push sound in a directed pattern, which helps voice announcements carry over distance and background noise.

Because the 100V transformer offers several power settings, the RH40V works in small installs and larger multi-speaker systems alike. Pair it with a 100V line amplifier and set each speaker's tapping to match the coverage you need. It handles speech and paging well and copes with music playback where required. The rectangular shape gives a wider horizontal spread than a round horn, useful when you want to cover a broad area from a single mounting point.
