Description

The Adastra MM321 is a rack-mountable 1U mixer with a built-in media player and Bluetooth receiver, made for background music, public address and house PA systems. It gives you three mono inputs, each connecting via XLR microphone or line input on a switchable basis, so you can run condenser microphones, dynamic microphones or line sources from the same channels. Two stereo auxiliary line inputs sit on RCA (phono) connectors, and a stereo record output lets you capture what is going through the mixer.

Each of the three mono inputs has switchable +20V phantom power for use with condenser microphones or D.I. boxes, and channel 1 has a variable priority function that ducks or mutes the other channels when you need to make an announcement. There are also 24V emergency mute contacts that silence everything except channel 1, which is handy for evacuation messages and paging. Rear panel DIP switches handle the mic/line and phantom settings, along with the priority muting level, while treble, bass and master controls sit up front.

The media player runs in four modes: 3.5mm Aux input, USB audio player, FM radio tuner and Bluetooth receiver for playback from a phone or tablet. Main left and right outputs are fed to XLR, with an extra mono summed output on a 6.3mm jack for feeding an amplifier or a second zone. The unit runs from a universal 100-240Vac IEC supply, measures 482 x 130 x 44mm and weighs 1.43kg. It is straightforward to set up and use, so you can get music and announcements running without a steep learning curve.
