Description

The Adastra MG-220D is a pistol grip megaphone built for outdoor voice reinforcement. With up to 30W of output and an effective range of around 600 metres, it carries the spoken word across car parks, sports fields, marshalling points and event queues. The robust ABS construction stands up to regular handling and the odd knock, so it holds up well as a piece of kit you can rely on across events and site work.

We've fitted an anti-feedback microphone that can be attached to the megaphone body or held separately in your hand, which gives you a choice of how you speak and how you point the horn. There's also a switchable siren function for when you need to grab attention quickly before you start speaking. You can carry it by hand or use the shoulder strap for longer stretches, so it stays comfortable through steady use.

Power comes from 8 x D alkaline batteries running at 12V DC, which are not supplied, so you can pick your preferred cells. At 340mm long with a 230mm diameter horn and a weight of 2kg, it sits comfortably in one hand while still projecting a strong signal. If you run outdoor events, work on a busy site or need clear public address without a fixed system, the MG-220D covers the job. In some regions a megaphone is also called a bullhorn, so both terms describe the same tool here.
