Description

The Adastra IWA460B is a Class-D stereo amplifier built to fit into cavity walls and ceilings, so you get a working sound system without a unit sitting on a table or in a cabinet. It delivers 4 x 60W across four channels and uses a minimalist housing designed for discreet installation. Class-D operation keeps it running efficiently with very little heat, and an internal switch-mode power section means you can connect it directly to the local mains supply.

Connections cover most everyday needs. Bluetooth 5.0 lets you stream audio wirelessly from a phone or other enabled device, and there's a Bluetooth on/off defeat switch if you want to disable it. Alongside wireless, you have a 3.5mm stereo Aux input (sometimes called an auxiliary or line input in the US) plus an optical digital audio input, which makes it straightforward to fold into an A-V system. A 3.5mm stereo output and an onboard master volume control round things off, and each unit carries a unique Bluetooth serial ID.

This amplifier suits background music and public address in small to medium spaces, and you can deploy several units to cover a wider area. It works with many different speaker types, so you can match it to whatever suits the room, down to a minimum impedance of 4 Ohms per output. The IWA460B is supplied with a C7 (figure-8) to UK power lead, and at just 150g the unit itself is light enough to sit neatly inside a wall or ceiling void.
