Description

The Adastra IWA230B is a compact in-wall stereo amplifier built for background music and public address in small to medium spaces. It fits neatly into cavity walls and ceilings, so there's no need for table-top or cabinet mounting. The minimalist housing keeps everything out of sight while the amplifier does the work, and it can be combined with many different speaker types to suit the room.

At its core is a Class-D amplifier delivering 2 x 30W, running cleanly and efficiently with minimal heat. An internal digital switch-mode power section allows direct connection to the local mains supply, and the unit is supplied with a C7 (figure-8) to UK power lead. Bluetooth 5.0 handles wireless streaming from a phone or other enabled device, with an on/off defeat switch and a unique serial ID to avoid pairing confusion where several units are installed. Alongside Bluetooth you get a 3.5mm stereo Aux input and an optical digital audio input, which makes it straightforward to integrate into A-V systems.

A 3.5mm stereo Aux output lets you pass audio on or link units together, and an onboard master volume control sets the level. The minimum load is 4 Ohms per output, giving you room to match a range of speakers. For larger areas you can deploy several IWA230B units to build a wide-area sound installation. With a weight of just 150g and a wide 100-240Vac input, it's an easy fit for both new builds and retrofit work where a discreet, fixed amplifier makes more sense than a visible box.
