Description

This package pairs two Adastra OD5-W 5" IP35 waterproof ceiling speakers with an IWA230B in-wall Bluetooth amplifier. It gives you a background music setup for bathrooms, wet rooms and other humid spaces, with all components mounting into the ceiling or wall cavity so nothing sits on show. The speakers are rated IP35, which means they handle splashes and moisture while still giving clean sound reproduction.

The IWA230B amplifier has a built-in Bluetooth receiver, plus an Aux input that includes a digital optical connection. It runs from its own internal power supply, so you can wire it straight to the mains without a separate plug-in adapter. The Aux output lets you link to other playback gear, and you can expand the system by running Aux Out to Aux In on a second amp, with Bluetooth handled by the first unit only. Ten metres of extra speaker cable comes in the box to make wiring easier.

A couple of practical points worth noting. The in-wall amplifier must be mounted in the void, away from humidity, so keep it clear of the wet area itself even though the speakers are rated for it. When extending the speaker cable, use a terminal block and do not short the wires together. The amplifier and speakers are packed separately. Between them, the two speakers per output and the compact amp give you a tidy install for any room where you want music without visible boxes.

Are the speakers safe to use in a bathroom?

The OD5-W speakers are IP35 rated, so they cope with splashes and humidity found in bathrooms and wet rooms. The amplifier, however, must be mounted in a dry void away from moisture.

How do I play music through this system?

The IWA230B has a built-in Bluetooth receiver for wireless streaming from a phone or tablet. You can also use the Aux input, which includes a digital optical connection, for wired sources.

Does the amplifier need a separate power supply?

No. The IWA230B has an internal power supply and connects directly to a mains supply, so there is no plug-in adapter to find room for.

Can I add more speakers or amps later?
