Description

The Adastra HD50V is a heavy duty round horn speaker built for voice alerts and public address across outdoor and indoor areas. It uses a spun aluminium flare with a weatherproof ABS rear cover and reflex cone, so it holds up well in exposed positions. The fibreglass compression driver is connected to a 100V line transformer via a 4-core cable, giving you three power tappings to match the speaker output to the job.

Because it runs on a 100V line (also called a constant-voltage or distributed audio system in the US), you can wire several horns along a single cable run and set each one's volume through its power tapping. The HD50V is rated to IP66, so it stands up to dust and heavy water spray, and it has been tested across a wide operating range of -55°C to +70°C. That makes it a sensible choice for industrial sites, car parks, loading bays and other places where conditions vary through the year.

Fitting is straightforward using the tilt-adjustable wall bracket, which lets you aim the horn towards the area that needs coverage. The nominal impedance is 8 Ohms with the transformer bypassed, and the frequency response of 400Hz to 5kHz is tuned for clear speech rather than music. The RAL7042 grey finish keeps the unit unobtrusive on a wall or post. With reliable performance in almost any environment, the HD50V works well as a single speaker or as part of a larger 100V setup.

Frequently Asked

What is the power rating of the HD50V?

It is a 50W horn speaker with three selectable power tappings on its 100V line transformer, so you can set a lower output where needed.

Is the HD50V suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. It is rated IP66 against dust and heavy water spray, and it is tested across -55°C to +70°C, so it copes with exposed outdoor sites.

Does it run on a 100V line system?

Yes. The compression driver is connected to a 100V transformer via a 4-core cable, letting you run multiple horns on one line and set each tapping.

Can I use it without the transformer?

Yes. With the transformer bypassed the nominal impedance is 8 Ohms, so it can run on a standard low-impedance amplifier output.

What is the frequency response?

The HD50V covers 400Hz to 5kHz, which is tuned for clear speech and public address rather than full-range music playback.

How is it mounted?

It comes with a tilt-adjustable wall bracket, so you can fix it to a wall or post and aim the horn towards the coverage area.
