Description

The Adastra FC5V-W is a compact 100V background speaker built for spaces where you want even, low-level sound without bulky boxes on the wall. It uses a 5.25in driver in a 2-way design, paired with a 13mm PEI dome tweeter and a crossover network to keep the sound balanced across the range. A rotary selector switch lets you set the 100V line tappings or run the speaker at 8 ohms, so it fits both distributed line systems and standard amplifier setups. It's supplied singly, which makes it easy to plan an install to the exact number of speakers you need.

Because the cabinet is a moulded polypropylene shell with an aluminium grille, the FC5V-W stands up to damp and outdoor conditions. It carries an IP44 weatherproof rating and UV protection tested to ASTM D4329, so it holds its colour and finish in sunlight. That makes it a sensible choice for gardens, outdoor shelters, health club and spa areas, and marine applications. An equalisation switch boosts the higher frequencies when the speaker is used outside, helping speech and music stay clear in open air where treble tends to drop off.

Fitting is straightforward. A mounting bracket is included in the box, and there are M6 screw sockets if you prefer to mount by screw instead. Wiring runs through spring terminal connections for quick, tool-free hook-up. The 145° dispersion angle spreads sound over a wide area, so fewer units cover a given space. It's available in a white or black finish, so you can match it to the surroundings.
