Description
The Adastra FC4V-B is a compact 2-way background speaker built for spaces where you need steady, even sound without the box getting in the way. It uses a 3.5in driver paired with a 13mm PEI dome tweeter, with a crossover network splitting the frequencies between the two. The moulded polypropylene cabinet carries an aluminium grille, and the whole unit is rated IP44 for weather resistance, so it copes with the sort of damp and splashes you get outdoors.
This model runs on 100V line or 8 ohm operation, selected with a rotary switch on the cabinet. On a 100V system you can tap it at different power levels to balance the volume across several speakers on one run, which is how most background and public address (PA) setups work. There is also an equalisation switch that boosts the higher frequencies, useful when the speaker is mounted outside where treble tends to get lost. Spring terminal connections keep wiring quick, and a 145 degree dispersion angle spreads the sound over a wide area.
The cabinet is UV protected to ASTM D4329, so the finish holds up under sunlight over time. A mounting bracket is included, and there are M6 screw sockets if you prefer to fix it that way. Adastra makes it a sensible choice for gardens, outdoor shelters, health club and spa areas, and marine applications. The FC4V-B is supplied singly in black, with a white finish also available. Order the number of units you need to cover your space and wire them in across your 100V line.

Frequently Asked
Can the FC4V-B be used outdoors?
Yes. It carries an IP44 rating for weather resistance and is UV protected to ASTM D4329, so it suits gardens, outdoor shelters and covered outdoor areas.
Does it work on 100V line systems?
Yes. A rotary selector switch lets you choose between 100V line tappings or 8 ohm operation, so it fits both distributed and standard low-impedance setups.
Is the speaker sold in pairs?
No. The FC4V-B is supplied singly, so order the quantity you need for your installation.
How do I mount it?
A mounting bracket is included in the box. There are also M6 screw sockets if you want to fix it directly using your own hardware.
What is the equalisation switch for?
It boosts the higher frequencies. This helps when the speaker is mounted outside, where treble detail can otherwise get lost.
What finish options are there?
This unit is black. A white finish is also available in the same FC Series range.
