Description

The Adastra F40V is a 100V column speaker built for outdoor public address use where fire evacuation compliance matters. It carries EN54-24 certification, so it can form part of a voice alarm system that people rely on during emergencies. The housing and grille are made from die-cast aluminium alloy with a powder-coated finish, and the whole unit is rated to IP66 for protection against dust and driving rain.

Inside there are four 75mm (3") woofers and a single 63mm (2.5") tweeter, giving a frequency response of 150Hz to 18kHz. That range covers clear voice announcements as well as background music, so the same speaker handles day-to-day audio and evacuation alerts. Sensitivity is 96dB at 1W/1m, and the speaker delivers 40W in 8 Ohm mode. It can also run on 100V or 70.7V line systems, with tappings at 5W, 10W, 20W and 40W to help you balance levels across a run of speakers.

Wiring is hard-wired using fire resistant cable that enters through an IP66 gland, and an internal 95°C thermal fuse protects the circuit. The integral rear bracket is fully rotatable, so you can angle the speaker to point sound where it is needed once it is fixed to the wall. The F40V measures 500 x 175 x 97mm and weighs 3.87kg.
