Description

The Adastra EC36V is a miniature ceiling speaker built for damp spaces where a standard driver would struggle. It uses a 3" (75mm) paper cone treated with a water-resistant coating, so it can be fitted into washrooms, bathrooms and food preparation areas without trouble. The frame and basket are made from pressed steel with a powder coated finish, which keeps things sturdy and helps it stand up to moisture over time.

A built-in 100V line transformer makes this speaker suitable for larger installations where several speakers run from a single amplifier. You can choose between 3W and 6W tappings to balance volume across a room or building, which is useful for background music and paging. The compact 70 x 100mm body needs a 95mm cut-out and 70mm of mounting depth, and spring retainers hold it flush against the ceiling or wall once you push it into place.

Yes. The paper cone has a water-resistant coating and the steel frame is powder coated, so it suits washrooms, bathrooms and food preparation areas. We would not recommend direct water contact, but damp and humid conditions are fine.

What cut-out size do I need?

The EC36V needs a 95mm diameter cut-out and 70mm of mounting depth. The visible face measures 100mm in diameter.

How do the 3W and 6W tappings work?

This is a 100V line speaker with two power tappings. Selecting 3W or 6W lets you set the volume for each speaker across a run, which is handy for balancing sound in different rooms.

How is the speaker held in place?

It uses spring retainers that grip the ceiling or wall once the unit is pushed into the cut-out, giving a flush fit without extra brackets.

Is this speaker suitable for a low-impedance (8 ohm) system?
