Description

The Adastra CS4 is a paging microphone with a call station base, built to work with the RM244V or RM4460 mixer-amplifiers. It connects over a single RJ45 lead that carries both signal and power, so you only need one cable run between the station and the amp. A 1m RJ45 patch lead is supplied to get you started. Standard CAT5 wiring supports runs up to 100m, and with the optional 24Vdc adaptor you can extend that as far as 1km.

Zone assign buttons let you page a single zone or all four at once. When you press the page button, background music is muted across the selected zones and one of eight chimes plays before the microphone opens. Pressing reset mutes the mic and resumes music playback to all zones. The chime is set using DIP switches, and separate level controls cover aux, mic and chime volumes. The result is four-zone paging without the extra cost of running a quad amplifier.

The gooseneck holds a back electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, giving a frequency response of 150Hz to 22kHz at -3dB. A 3.5mm aux input lets you feed in an external source such as a music player or announcement device. Control uses the RS-485 interface. The unit measures 460 x 140 x 115mm and weighs 670g, with a footprint that sits neatly on a reception desk or counter.
