Description
The Adastra CS-5X is a paging microphone and call station base built to work with the RX45 audio matrix, giving you a straightforward way to make announcements across a multi-zone system. Zone assign buttons let you call any combination of up to 5 zones on a single RX45 unit, and the Page button mutes audio playback in those areas so your announcement comes through clearly. A row of Group buttons extends the range further, letting you assign paging across up to 8 linked RX45 units for up to 40 separate pageable zones.
Power and signal both run over the supplied RJ45 cable (known as an Ethernet-style patch lead), which keeps installation tidy over distances up to 100m using CAT5 cable. If you need to place the station further from the RX45, an optional 24Vdc adaptor allows connection up to 1km away. The station uses a back electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, so it picks up the speaker's voice while rejecting sound from the sides and rear.
For added flexibility there is a choice of 8 paging chimes, set via DIP switches, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for pre-recorded messages and alerts. Separate level controls for aux, mic and chime let you balance each source. Connections include XLR, RJ45 to the RX45, a 24Vdc power jack and the 3.5mm aux input, with RS-485 handling the control side. The unit measures 450 x 140 x 125mm and weighs 653g, giving it a stable footprint on a desk or counter for reception, retail or public address use.

Frequently Asked
What is the CS-5X designed to work with?
It is custom designed for the Adastra RX45 audio matrix and works as the paging call station within that system. It will not function as a standalone microphone for other equipment.
How many zones can I page?
Each RX45 unit gives you 5 assignable zones. By linking up to 8 RX45 units as an expanded system using the Group buttons, you can page up to 40 distinct zones.
How is the station powered and connected?
Power and signal both run through the supplied RJ45 cable, requiring 24Vdc at 500mA. This supports runs up to 100m with CAT5 cable, or up to 1km using the optional 24Vdc adaptor.
Can I play pre-recorded messages through it?
Yes. There is a 3.5mm auxiliary input for pre-recorded messages and alerts, plus a choice of 8 paging chimes set by DIP switches.
What type of microphone capsule does it use?
The CS-5X uses a back electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, which focuses on the speaker's voice and reduces pickup from the sides and rear.
What are the dimensions and weight?
The station measures 450 x 140 x 125mm and weighs 653g, giving it a stable base for desk or counter mounting.
