Description

The Adastra C6D is a 6.5in (16.5cm) two-way ceiling speaker built for easy fitting, whether you need main speakers, surround sound or remote speakers in another room. It uses a polypropylene woofer with a rubber surround paired with a Ferrofluid cooled silk dome tweeter, so it handles both low and high frequencies cleanly across a typical listening area.

The tweeter is adjustable, which means you can angle the high frequencies towards where people are actually sitting. That helps when the speaker sits off to one side rather than directly overhead, giving you more freedom over where the units go in the ceiling. The 155 degree dispersion angle spreads sound over a wide area, so a pair covers most rooms without leaving gaps.

Fitting is straightforward thanks to the dog-ear mounts, which clamp the speaker in place once it drops into the cut-out. Wiring uses spring-loaded terminal connections, so you just press and insert the bare wire rather than fiddling with screws. This is sold as a single speaker, so order two if you want a stereo pair. Note that in the US these are often called in-ceiling loudspeakers, but the fit and function are the same.

Is the C6D sold as a pair or a single?

It is sold as a single speaker. If you want a stereo pair for a room, you will need to order two units.

What size cut-out do I need?

This is a 6.5in (16.5cm) ceiling speaker. Check the driver size against your planned cut-out before fitting, and use the dog-ear mounts to secure it once in place.

What does the adjustable tweeter do?

The tweeter can be angled to point the high frequencies towards your listening area. This is useful when the speaker is fitted off to one side rather than directly above where you sit.

How are the speakers wired?
