Description

The Adastra BP5V-W is a weatherproof 5.25" background speaker built for 100V line systems and outdoor use. It's part of the BP Series, which are the weatherproof versions of the well regarded BC series 100V PA speakers. Each unit has an ABS enclosure and a powder coated aluminium grille, so it holds up in humid and exposed spots where a standard speaker wouldn't last.

The main driver uses a water resistant polypropylene cone, and the tweeter has a polymer diaphragm for reliable operation in damp conditions. A rotary selector switch on the back lets you choose between 100V line tappings or 8 Ohm operation, so it fits into both distributed PA setups and standard amplifier wiring. The speaker is supplied singly with a 1m hard-wired lead already connected, which keeps the IP54 rating intact all the way to a junction box or indoor area.

Mounting is straightforward. A wall mounting bracket is supplied, and there are alternative M6 threaded points if you'd rather fix it your own way. With an operating range of -5°C to +40°C and IP54 protection, the BP5V-W works in covered outdoor areas, gardens, patios and other places that see rain and temperature swings. It gives you clear sound reproduction across a wider range of environments than an indoor-only unit, while keeping installation simple.

Yes. The rotary selector switch lets you set it for 8 Ohm operation as well as 100V line tappings, so it works with both distributed 100V systems and standard amplifiers.
