Description
The Adastra BP5V-B is a 5.25" background speaker built for outdoor and humid settings. It runs on a 100V line for longer cable runs and multi-speaker installs, and a rotary selector switch lets you set the power tapping or switch to 8 Ohms operation. The main driver uses a water resistant polypropylene (PP) cone, while the tweeter has a polymer diaphragm, so both parts hold up in damp conditions. Rated IP54, it copes with splashes and weather without losing performance.
Each speaker is supplied singly with an ABS enclosure and a powder coated aluminium grille. Connection is through a 1m hard-wired lead, which keeps the IP protection running all the way back to a junction box or an indoor area where you make the final connection. A wall mounting bracket is included, and there are M6 threaded mounting points if you prefer an alternative fixing. The operating temperature range runs from -5°C to +40°C, covering most year-round outdoor use in the UK.
This is the weatherproof version of the well regarded BC series 100V PA speaker, so you get the same sound quality in places where a standard indoor unit would not last. It suits patios, covered walkways, garden bars, forecourts and any spot that needs reliable background sound in the open air. Finished in black, it sits quietly against most walls and fittings. Buy the number you need for the space and wire them to a single 100V amplifier.

Frequently Asked
Can the BP5V-B run on 8 Ohms as well as 100V?
Yes. The rotary selector switch sets the 100V line tapping, or you can switch it to 8 Ohms operation for a low impedance setup.
How weatherproof is it?
It is rated IP54, so it resists dust and water splashes. The 1m hard-wired lead keeps that IP protection intact up to your junction box or indoor connection point.
Are speakers sold as a pair?
No. Each BP5V-B is supplied singly, so order the exact quantity you need for your installation.
How do I mount it?
A wall mounting bracket is supplied. There are also M6 threaded mounting points if you want to use an alternative fixing method.
What temperatures can it handle?
The operating temperature range is -5°C to +40°C, which suits most outdoor and covered locations throughout the year.
How is it connected to the amplifier?
Through the fitted 1m hard-wired speaker cable, which you run back to a junction box or into an indoor area to complete the wiring.
