Description

The Adastra BP4V-B is a weatherproof 4-inch background speaker built for 100V line systems, and it's a water-resistant version of the well-regarded BC series PA speakers. The main driver uses a water-resistant polypropylene (PP) cone, while the tweeter has a polymer diaphragm, both chosen to keep working reliably in humid and outdoor conditions. It's supplied singly in black, so you can buy exactly the number you need for a given install.

The cabinet is a moulded ABS enclosure fitted with a powder-coated aluminium grille, giving an IP54 weatherproof rating. Connection from your amplifier is through a hard-wired 1m lead, which keeps the IP protection intact all the way back to a junction box or indoor area. A rotary selector switch lets you set the 100V line tapping, or run the speaker at 8 Ohms if you'd prefer low-impedance operation. That makes it easy to balance output across several speakers on the same 100V line.

Mounting is straightforward. A wall mounting bracket is supplied, and there are alternative M6 threaded points if you'd rather fix it another way. The operating temperature range runs from -5°C to +40°C, so it copes with covered outdoor areas, garden bars, patios and similar spots that see damp and cold. If you need clear, even background sound across a wider range of environments than a standard indoor speaker can handle, the BP4V-B is a sensible choice.
