Description

The Adastra BP3V-W is a weatherproof 100V line speaker built for outdoor and humid settings where a standard indoor unit would struggle. It uses a 3" water resistant polypropylene (PP) cone main driver, with the whole enclosure rated to IP54. The cabinet is moulded ABS and the grille is powder coated aluminium, so it holds up to damp air and the odd splash while keeping the sound clear.

This is one of the weatherproof versions of the well regarded BC series 100V PA speakers. A rotary selector switch on the unit lets you set the 100V line tapping or run it at 8 Ohms, so you can balance the volume across a run of speakers to suit the space. The tweeter uses a polymer diaphragm for reliable operation in humid conditions. Connection is through a hard-wired 1m lead, which keeps the IP protection right up to a junction box or an indoor area where you can join the cable.

Each speaker is supplied singly, so you can buy exactly the number you need. A wall mounting bracket is included in the box, and there are alternative M6 threaded mounting points if you would rather fix it another way. The operating temperature range runs from -5°C to +40°C, covering most sheltered outdoor spots, patios, walkways and covered areas. Finished in white to sit quietly against most walls, it gives you a straightforward way to spread background music or paging (public address) sound across a wider set of environments.

Can I run it at 8 Ohms instead of 100V?

Yes. The rotary selector switch sets the 100V line tappings or switches the speaker to 8 Ohms operation, so it works with both 100V line systems and standard low impedance amplifiers.

How does it connect to the amplifier?
