Description

The Adastra BCS65S is a pair of 6.5in ceiling speakers with switchable Bluetooth built in, so you can play music from a phone, tablet or laptop without running cables across the room. The set arrives as an active speaker with a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver plus a passive slave speaker, giving you sound from both while keeping the wiring simple. It suits both home and light commercial rooms where you want audio overhead and out of the way.

Each speaker is a full-range 2-way coaxial design, with low and high frequency drivers and a 12mm (0.5in) neodymium dome tweeter. Flared baffles help give a smooth, even response across the room, and the dispersion angle is rated at 160 degrees for wide coverage. The active speaker has an RCA line input and output, so you can daisy-chain several sets together and cover a larger space from one Bluetooth source. Impedance is 4 Ohms per speaker, and the housing is moulded ABS plastic.

Fitting is straightforward thanks to dog-ear clamps that grip the ceiling board, and an in-line DC power supply that connects with a UK to C7 power lead. The frameless magnetic grilles sit low and flat against the ceiling, and lift off without visible screws or a fixed frame. A 3m speaker link cable joins the active and passive units.
