Description

The Adastra AS-6 mkII brings six playback modes together in a single 1U rack unit. You get a slot-feed CD player, USB and SD card playback, an FM tuner, a DAB/DAB+ tuner and a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver, so one box covers most of what a background music system needs. The front panel keeps things simple, with a full colour TFT display showing the current mode and settings, plus a clock when the unit sits in standby. Controls on the right of the panel handle menus and playback, and a handheld remote is included in the box.

This mkII version adds balanced outputs alongside the standard ones. You get Left and Right on both unbalanced RCA connectors at line level and balanced XLR connectors, which gives you more flexibility over longer cable runs in a permanent installation. For radio reception, the AS-6 mkII comes with a magnetic spring antenna (aerial in UK usage) that connects to the F socket on the rear panel. If you need better reception, you can connect that same socket to a roof-mounted aerial instead.

Specs cover a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz on CD and 40Hz to 16kHz on the other modes, with THD from 0.03% on CD and a signal to noise ratio of 75dB or better on CD, USB and SD.
