Description

A long, low bar in antique brass holds four G9 lamps in a row across 60cm, so the light spreads evenly rather than dropping into a single pool. The holders are spaced along the length, which stops any one part of a picture taking all the brightness. A toggle switch sits on the fitting itself, so it can be worked by hand. The brass has a warm, gently aged tone that sits happily against picture frames, panelling and deeper paint colours.

We would use it above a wide canvas or a run of prints, where the length carries light out to the edges of the frame instead of letting the corners fade. It works just as well as a wall light over a mantel, along a hallway, or above a sideboard in a dining room. It suits homes where a picture, a mirror or a shelf of favourite objects deserves proper light, and it is one we reach for when a ceiling fitting overhead would throw shadows down the face of a frame. Fit dimmable G9 capsules with a compatible dimmer and the output can be brought down to something quieter for the evening. It is meant for dry rooms indoors on a normal household circuit.

The antique brass finish is warm rather than bright, and it reads as older metal rather than new polish, which suits period rooms and darker schemes. Keep it clean with a dry cloth run along the top edge, and avoid polishes or sprays, which can mark the aged surface. Allow the capsules to cool before handling them. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in satin nickel and satin black, and in a shorter two lamp size for a narrower wall or a smaller frame. Lamps are not included.
