Description

Our Cognac covering brings a warm, worn-leather tone to a room, the kind of amber shade that settles easily against neutral walls and picks up the low light of a lamp in the evening. We chose it because it works hard without shouting: pair it with pale linen and it reads soft and inviting, set it against darker joinery and it holds its own. This is a low upholstered ottoman on an open solid-oak frame, and the Cognac finish lets the oak beneath it stay part of the picture rather than fading away.

The frame is solid oak with cross-rails running between the legs, so you see through and under it, which keeps a small room feeling open. At 43cm high, 63cm wide and 50cm deep, it sits at a comfortable resting height beside a sofa or at the foot of a bed, and it slides neatly under a console when you need the floor back.
