Description

Our A Conversation Piece Low Oak Lounge Chair sits low and easy, its single curved shell forming both seat and back in one continuous upholstered sweep. That shell rests on an open frame of solid oak, with four splayed legs and cross-rails that keep the whole thing steady while letting light pass beneath. There is nothing high-backed or winged about it, and it does not recline. What we like is the balance between the soft, wrapping seat and the honest wood beneath, a shape that reads as relaxed without slumping into the floor. At 83cm high and 70cm deep, it holds a comfortable posture for reading or talking, which is rather the point of the name.

The covering here is a warm brown polyester, chosen to work with the natural oak frame rather than compete with it. This piece is made from solid oak and plywood, with a PUR component supporting the structure, and the textile draws on the Horizons S, Teddy Bear and Hope leather ranges. The oak keeps its own grain and colour, so no two frames look quite the same, and the brown upholstery settles into a room without demanding the whole space to itself.

We keep assembly short at around 20 minutes, and the chair weighs 16.5kg, so moving it between rooms is no great struggle.
