Description
Standing 83cm tall with a 70cm depth, our A Conversation Piece lounge chair keeps a low, grounded profile that settles comfortably into a reading corner, a bedroom nook or the quieter end of a living room. At 16.5kg it is light enough for one person to reposition when we rearrange a space, yet solid enough to feel planted once it is in place. The single curved shell forms both seat and back in one sweep, cradling you without the bulk of a high-backed or winged design, and the depth gives room to sit back and relax rather than perch.
This chair sits on an open frame of solid Black Oak, with four splayed legs and cross-rails that hold everything steady while keeping the look airy underneath. The dark grain of the Black Oak sits against a soft Brown upholstery, a pairing we chose because it works as easily with pale walls as it does with deeper, warmer rooms. The shell is made up over plywood and PUR with a polyester cover, so the surface you lean into stays supportive over long evenings.
Assembly takes around 20 minutes, so you can have it ready the same afternoon it arrives, and the small number of parts means no wrestling with awkward fixings. We hold this chair to the EN 16139 (L1) furniture standard, and it carries both the Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which tells you the materials have been tested for harmful substances and made with recycled content in mind. It is a considered, comfortable lounge chair that earns its name, and one we are glad to offer as a single, ready-to-go specification.
