A Conversation Piece Low Black Oak Lounge Chair 83cm - Black

Solid oak forms the open frame of our A Conversation Piece Low Lounge Chair, with four splayed legs and cross-rails holding a curved upholstered shell that shapes both the seat and the back. We finish the oak in Black, a dark tone that sets off the Black upholstery above it, and we keep the whole thing low and grounded rather than high-backed or winged. The shell wraps around you in one continuous piece of polyester covering over a PUR fill, worked over plywood, so the support stays soft without losing its form. This is a chair to be sat in and looked at in equal measure.

The covering here is a Black polyester, drawn from the textile ranges our A Conversation Piece pieces are built on, namely Horizons S, Teddy Bear and Hope leather. Standing 83cm high and 70cm deep, the chair holds a compact footprint that we like in a reading corner, beside a table lamp base, or turned towards a window. At 16.5kg it is easy for us to move about when a room needs rearranging, and the low line keeps it from crowding whatever sits around it.

We assemble ours in around 20 minutes, so it is ready to use the same day it arrives. The chair meets the EN 16139 (L1) furniture standard, and its textiles carry both the Global Recycled Standard and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which tells us the materials have been tested for restricted substances.
