9W LED Bulkhead With Microwave Sensor - White IP65 CCT Adjustable

The Knightsbridge BT9ACTS is a 9W LED bulkhead with an integrated microwave sensor, built into a white polycarbonate housing rated IP65 for outdoor and wet-location use. The CCT function allows the colour temperature to be switched between 3000K warm white (730lm), 4000K neutral white (810lm), and 5700K cool daylight (780lm) via a selector switch on the rear of the fitting, so the light temperature can be adjusted to match the environment without changing the bulkhead itself.

Designed for wall and ceiling mounting on building exteriors, car parks, stairwells, corridors, storage areas and commercial premises, the microwave sensor detects motion up to several metres and automatically switches the light on when movement is detected, then off after a set hold time. The sensor's detection range, lux threshold (daylight sensitivity) and hold time are all adjustable via controls on the rear of the unit, allowing the bulkhead to be configured for different mounting heights and traffic patterns. The IP65 rating protects the internals from rain and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions.

The 256mm diameter white polycarbonate body houses an opal diffuser that spreads light across a 115-degree beam angle, minimising glare while providing wide coverage for pathways and doorways. The hinged LED gear tray allows access to the wiring terminal block and sensor controls without needing to fully remove the bulkhead from the wall. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required, simplifying installation. The SMD LED array carries a 50,000-hour L70B50 rating (50,000 hours to 70% initial output) and a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

How is the CCT adjusted?

A selector switch on the rear of the bulkhead allows you to choose between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, or 5700K cool daylight. The setting is changed by opening the hinged gear tray and flipping the switch before closing the unit again.

How is the microwave sensor configured?

Three controls on the rear of the unit adjust detection range, lux threshold (the ambient light level below which the sensor activates), and hold time (how long the light stays on after detecting movement). These can be set to match the mounting height and the specific application.

Can this be used outdoors in rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects the internals from rain and dust, making the bulkhead suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions including building exteriors, covered walkways, and car parks.

Does it need an earth connection?

No. The bulkhead is Class II double-insulated, so it only requires live and neutral connections. This simplifies wiring in older buildings or surface-mounted conduit installations where an earth may not be readily available.
