Description
The Knightsbridge 9-gang grid faceplate is a screwless cover plate designed to hold nine euro module inserts in a 3x3 configuration. The plate measures 208mm high by 148mm wide and is finished in smoked bronze — a deep warm metallic tone that sits between antique brass and matt black. The screwless design means the cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws on the wall once installed.
Designed for media walls, home cinema installations, office workstations and smart home control panels, the faceplate accepts any standard euro module inserts including HDMI, coaxial TV, RJ45 data, USB charging, telephone, audio and speaker terminals. The 9-gang layout allows complex installations to be consolidated into a single plate rather than spreading sockets across multiple faceplates, giving a cleaner finish on feature walls behind TVs, AV cabinets and desktop areas.
The plate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a smoked bronze PVD coating that resists wear and fingerprints better than painted finishes. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame improves the fit against the wall and helps keep dust out of the module apertures. At 10mm projection from the wall, the plate sits flush with typical plasterboard surfaces when paired with a 25mm back box. Knightsbridge backs the faceplate with a 25-year guarantee.
The smoked bronze finish pairs well with warm-toned interiors, brass and copper accents, walnut and oak joinery, and darker paint schemes. It provides a middle ground between polished brass (too reflective for some installations) and matt black (too stark in traditional settings). The IP20 rating makes the faceplate suitable for dry indoor environments — living rooms, bedrooms, offices and hallways — but not bathrooms or outdoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What euro modules does it accept?
The faceplate accepts any standard euro module inserts including HDMI, coaxial TV, RJ45 data, USB-A, USB-C, telephone, audio, speaker terminals and blanking plates. Modules are sold separately and clip into the apertures from the front once the sub-frame is wired and fixed to the back box.
What back box is needed?
A 9-gang grid requires a double or triple metal back box depending on the layout of the modules and the depth of the connections behind them. For surface-mounted installations, a metal grid mounting frame is used instead of a recessed back box. Consult a qualified electrician for the correct back box specification for your module combination.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that holds the modules and fixes to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the faceplate and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or module configuration.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor locations only — living rooms, bedrooms, offices and hallways. For bathroom installations, a higher IP-rated enclosure would be required.
