The Knightsbridge GDM022SB is a 6A 1-gang 2-way switch module that replicates the appearance of a rotary dimmer without the dimming function. It provides push on/off switching through a knob interface identical to a standard dimmer module, designed for modular grid faceplates where visual uniformity across multiple control points matters more than individual dimming capability.

Installed in grid systems where some circuits require dimming and others need standard switching, the dummy dimmer allows all control points to share the same visual language. The 2-way configuration supports switching from two locations, pairing with a second 2-way switch elsewhere in the circuit. The 6A rating handles most lighting loads including LED and CFL circuits up to 1,380W.

The smoked bronze finish provides a warm metallic tone darker than standard brass, sitting between antique brass and oil-rubbed bronze on the colour spectrum. The module clips into standard Knightsbridge grid plates and requires a minimum 35mm back box depth for installation. The ABS and steel construction gives the knob a solid rotation feel matching that of genuine dimmer modules.

Why use a dummy dimmer instead of a standard switch?

When installing grid faceplates with multiple modules, using dummy dimmers alongside real dimmers creates visual consistency. All control points look identical, maintaining a clean aesthetic where some circuits need dimming and others need only standard switching.

What does 2-way mean?

A 2-way switch can be paired with another 2-way switch to control the same light from two locations, such as a landing light switched from both upstairs and downstairs. This module supports that configuration.

What grid plate does it fit?

The module fits Knightsbridge's modular grid system. You'll need a separate grid faceplate sized to accommodate the number of modules you're installing (1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang or larger). The faceplate and modules are sold separately.

Can it control LED and CFL bulbs?

Yes. The 6A rating supports LED and CFL loads up to 1,380W total. Because this is a switch rather than a dimmer, it simply turns the circuit on or off without needing compatibility testing for specific bulb types.
