Description

The Knightsbridge TPOV60B is a 60W outdoor oval bulkhead light built around an aluminium body finished in black, with an opal glass diffuser held behind a wire guard cage. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP54 rating, protecting against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for external wall mounting on porches, doorways, outbuildings, garages and covered walkways, the bulkhead provides functional light in areas exposed to weather but not direct water jets. The wire guard cage protects the glass from impact and adds a utilitarian aesthetic that suits industrial, agricultural and period property exteriors. The 210mm height and 100mm width make it suitable for single-storey doorways and garage entrances without overwhelming the wall.

The aluminium construction resists rust and corrosion better than steel alternatives, while the black finish conceals surface marks and weathering over time. The opal glass diffuses light evenly in a 180° arc from the wall, avoiding harsh shadows directly below the fitting. Dimming capability depends on the bulb fitted — pairing with a dimmable LED allows light levels to be adjusted via a compatible wall dimmer.

What does IP54 mean for outdoor use?

IP54 means the bulkhead is protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction. It can handle rain and weather when wall-mounted under a porch or overhang, but is not rated for direct water jets or full submersion.

What bulb does it take?

The bulkhead takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor entrance lighting.

Is the wire guard removable?

The wire guard is a fixed part of the fitting's construction and designed to protect the glass diffuser from impact. It cannot be removed without compromising the structural integrity of the bulkhead.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming capability depends on the bulb fitted. Pair the bulkhead with a dimmable E27 LED and a compatible wall dimmer to adjust light levels. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming.
