Description
This Elstead 4W LED candle bulb uses visible filament strips behind clear glass to mimic the appearance of a traditional incandescent candle bulb while running on modern LED technology. The E14 small Edison screw base fits standard UK candle fittings in chandeliers, wall lights, bedside lamps and pendant shades. The bulb produces 400 lumens at 3000K warm white, equivalent to a traditional 40W incandescent candle.
Designed for decorative fittings where the bulb remains visible, the clear glass and exposed filament strips create a traditional aesthetic suited to chandeliers, open pendant shades, wall sconces and table lamps with fabric or glass shades. The dimmable function allows light levels to be adjusted from full brightness down to around 10%, compatible with most leading-edge and trailing-edge LED dimmers. At 4W the bulb draws minimal power compared to the 40W incandescent it replaces, reducing running costs by approximately 90%.
The candle profile measures approximately 35mm diameter by 98mm height, fitting most standard candle-style lamp holders without protruding beyond the shade or holder rim. The clear glass maximises light output compared to frosted or tinted alternatives, making it suitable for task lighting in kitchens, hallways and reading areas as well as ambient decorative use. The rated lifespan of 15,000 hours equates to around 13 years at 3 hours daily use, significantly outlasting both incandescent and halogen equivalents.

Frequently Asked
Is this bulb dimmable with all dimmer switches?
The bulb is compatible with most modern LED-rated dimmer switches, both leading-edge and trailing-edge types. Older rotary dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause flickering or limited dimming range. For best results, pair with a dimmer switch marked as LED-compatible.
What colour temperature is 3000K?
3000K is warm white, producing a soft yellowish light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. It suits residential interiors, dining areas and bedrooms. Cooler temperatures (4000K+) give a whiter, more clinical light.
How bright is 400 lumens?
400 lumens is equivalent to a traditional 40W incandescent candle bulb. It provides sufficient light for bedside reading, ambient lighting in living rooms, or decorative accent lighting in chandeliers with multiple bulbs.
What's the lifespan compared to halogen candles?
This LED bulb is rated for 15,000 hours, compared to around 2,000 hours for a halogen candle. At 3 hours daily use, the LED lasts approximately 13 years versus under 2 years for halogen, significantly reducing replacement frequency and waste.
