Description

The Knightsbridge SUR5 is a 1500mm dual-mount LED emergency luminaire delivering 4200lm of cool white light from an integrated 45W LED array housed in a matt black pressed steel body. A 3-hour LiFePO4 emergency battery provides backup lighting during mains power failures, switching automatically when supply voltage drops. The luminaire can be surface-mounted directly to ceilings or suspended using an optional suspension kit sold separately.

Designed for commercial offices, retail back-of-house areas, corridors, warehouses and healthcare settings where emergency lighting compliance is required, the SUR5 meets Eco Design and ErP standards for energy efficiency. The 110° beam angle provides wide, uniform light distribution across 1500mm of run, making it suitable for open-plan workspaces, long corridors and large storage areas. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.

The matt black finish integrates cleanly into industrial and contemporary commercial interiors, particularly where exposed services, black ceilings or dark accent features are part of the design. The pressed steel construction gives the batten rigidity and durability under commercial use, while the integrated LED eliminates the need for lamp replacement over the typical 50,000-hour lifespan. The luminaire runs on standard 230V 50Hz mains supply and is Class I earthed.

Emergency mode activates automatically when mains power is lost, running the LED array at reduced output for 3 hours from the internal battery. The LiFePO4 chemistry provides longer cycle life and more stable discharge characteristics than older NiCd or NiMH emergency batteries, reducing the frequency of battery replacement during the luminaire's service life.
