Description

The Knightsbridge SUR5 is a 1500mm LED emergency luminaire with an integrated 40W LED module and a 3-hour emergency backup powered by a LiFePO4 battery. The pressed steel housing in matt black measures 145mm wide by 45mm deep and delivers 3010 lumens of cool white light through a polycarbonate diffuser with a 115° beam angle.

Designed to replace fluorescent tube battens in commercial and institutional settings, the SUR5 mounts either surface-fixed to ceilings or suspended on cables (suspension kit sold separately). The integrated emergency function maintains illumination during mains failure, making the fitting suitable for corridors, offices, classrooms, retail storage areas and healthcare spaces where continuous lighting is required under Building Regulations Part B. The 230V 50Hz mains supply charges the internal battery automatically.

The matt black finish provides a low-profile alternative to white battens in industrial and contemporary interiors, while the IP20 rating and Class I earthed construction suit standard dry indoor environments. The 115° beam angle spreads light evenly across ceiling-mounted runs without creating harsh pools or dark bands, and the polycarbonate diffuser reduces glare from the direct LED array. The fitting complies with Eco Design and ErP energy-efficiency regulations.

Yes. The SUR5 is designed for either surface mounting directly to the ceiling or suspended mounting on cables. A suspension kit is required for cable mounting and is sold separately.

What colour temperature is the LED?

Is the fitting suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry indoor environments only. It is not protected against moisture ingress and should not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or outdoor locations.
