Description
The Knightsbridge CU2164 is a 4-gang 2-way leading edge dimmer with four rotary control knobs set into a white rounded-edge faceplate. Each gang handles 40-400W for incandescent or halogen lamps, or 3-100W for dimmable LED bulbs, giving a total load capacity of 1,600W incandescent or 400W LED across all four circuits when fully loaded.
Designed for residential and hospitality lighting control, the dimmer suits rooms where four separate lighting circuits need independent brightness adjustment from a single wall plate — living rooms with downlights, wall lights, table lamps and feature lighting, or open-plan kitchen-diners with island pendants, under-cabinet strips, recessed spots and decorative fittings. The 2-way configuration allows the same circuits to be controlled from a second location using compatible 2-way switches elsewhere in the room.
The 7mm plate depth and rounded edges reduce the wall projection compared to square-edge alternatives, giving a lower-profile finish that sits comfortably on skirting-adjacent walls. The white thermoset resin construction carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on the surface — useful in high-touch residential and commercial environments. Each rotary knob pushes on and off as well as rotating to adjust brightness, and the plate includes screw cap covers to conceal fixings once installed.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The 7mm plate projection adds minimal depth once the dimmer is fitted to the wall.
Can this dim LED bulbs?
Yes, but compatibility depends on the specific LED bulb model. Each gang handles 3-100W of dimmable LED load. Check with the lamp manufacturer before pairing — not all LED bulbs are designed to work with leading edge dimmers, and incompatible bulbs may flicker or fail to dim smoothly.
What does 2-way mean?
2-way allows the same lighting circuits to be controlled from two locations. You wire this dimmer at one location and a standard 2-way switch at the second location, so the lights can be turned on/off from either point. Only the dimmer location adjusts brightness.
What's the total load capacity?
Each of the four gangs handles up to 400W incandescent or 100W LED independently. The total load across all four gangs should not exceed 1,600W incandescent or 400W LED to stay within safe operating limits.
