Designed for living rooms, open-plan kitchen-dining areas, and home cinema installations where multiple lighting zones need independent dimming control, the 2-way configuration allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two locations. The trailing-edge mode is preset at installation for compatibility with most LED and low-voltage halogen loads, while the leading-edge mode can be selected via the front control knob if fitting older incandescent or high-voltage halogen lamps. Trim adjustment and mode switching are accessible from the front of the plate without removing the faceplate, making it straightforward to recalibrate if lamps are changed in future.

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode is designed for dimmable LED and electronic low-voltage halogen transformers, and is the preset default. Leading-edge mode suits older incandescent and magnetic low-voltage halogen loads. The dimmer can be switched between modes via the front control knob without removing the faceplate.

Can I mix different lamp brands on the same circuit?

No. All lamps controlled by each gang must be the same brand, type and wattage. Mixing different lamp specifications on the same circuit causes flickering and inconsistent dimming performance.

What does 2-way mean?

2-way allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations — for example, one dimmer at the room entrance and another at the far end of a hallway. This requires appropriate wiring between the two switch positions.

What back box depth is needed?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is required. The faceplate adds 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a nearly flush finish.
