The Knightsbridge SF2194SB is a 4-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer rated at 10-200W for traditional incandescent and halogen loads, or 5-150W for dimmable LED lamps. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes via the control knob, allowing compatibility with a range of lamp technologies without replacing the dimmer when upgrading bulbs. Each gang operates independently with push on/off and rotary dimming action, controlled by matching smoked bronze dimmer caps set into a screwless faceplate.

Designed for multi-light control in dining rooms, living rooms, home cinemas and bedrooms where four separate circuits need individual dimming control from a single wall plate, the dimmer fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, hiding all fixings and giving a flat finish on the wall. The 2-way configuration allows the same lights to be controlled from two locations, pairing this dimmer with a matching 2-way dimmer or switch elsewhere in the room.

The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection, plus an inrush current limiter to handle the initial surge when switching on certain LED drivers. The control knob on each gang provides access to trim adjustment, mode switching and reset functions from the front of the plate, avoiding the need to remove the cover or access the back box when changing lamp types. The smoked bronze finish is a dark metallic brown-grey that sits between gunmetal and bronze, pairing well with industrial, contemporary and warm-toned interiors.

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode suits most modern dimmable LED lamps and low-voltage transformers. Leading-edge mode suits older incandescent, halogen and some magnetic transformers. The dimmer is preset to trailing-edge on installation. If lamps flicker or fail to dim smoothly, switch to leading-edge mode using the control knob.

Can I mix different bulb types on one gang?

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The dimmer module recesses 21.3mm into the box, with the screwless cover plate adding 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.
