Description
The Knightsbridge 4-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer controls four independent lighting zones from a single faceplate, with each gang rated for 10-200W resistive loads or 5-150W LED loads. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes via the front control knob, providing compatibility with a wide range of dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent lamps without changing the back-box wiring.
Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and home cinema installations where multiple lighting zones need independent dimming control, the four rotary knobs provide push-on/off and rotary dimming action. Each gang can be trimmed and mode-switched from the front of the plate, allowing installers to fine-tune dimming curves or switch modes if lamps are changed in the future without removing the faceplate. The 2-way wiring supports control from two locations.
The gunmetal finish is a dark grey metallic tone that sits between brushed steel and matt black, pairing well with both industrial and contemporary interiors. The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall surface and uses premium-grade steel construction with visible screws at each corner. Built-in overload, overheat protection and an inrush current limiter (ICL) protect the dimmer circuitry from surge damage when lamps are first switched on.
The dimmer ships preset to trailing-edge mode, which suits most LED lamps. Leading-edge mode can be selected where needed for specific lamp types. All lamps controlled by a single gang must be the same brand, type and wattage to avoid flicker or buzzing — mixing different lamp models or wattages on one gang is not supported.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?
Trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LED lamps and is the factory preset. Leading-edge mode suits older halogen and incandescent lamps, plus some specialist LED types. The dimmer can be switched between modes using the front control knob without rewiring.
Can I mix different lamp types on one gang?
No. All lamps controlled by a single gang must be the same brand, model and wattage. Mixing different lamp types or wattages causes flicker, buzzing or inconsistent dimming behaviour. Different gangs can control different lamp types, but not within the same gang.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The flat plate adds 2.5mm projection from the wall once fitted.
How do I trim the dimming range?
Each gang has a trim function accessed via the front control knob. This allows you to adjust the minimum and maximum dimming levels to suit the specific lamps installed, eliminating flicker at low settings or preventing over-bright start-up.
