Description

The Knightsbridge SF2194BC is a 4-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer that handles 10-200W incandescent loads or 5-150W LED loads per gang, behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with matching metal dimmer caps. Each gang switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming modes via a control knob on the front of the plate, providing compatibility with most dimmable LED, halogen, and incandescent bulbs without needing to access the back box.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, and hospitality environments where multiple lighting circuits need independent dimming control from a single plate, the 4-gang configuration allows separate control of ceiling lights, wall lights, floor lamps, and table lamps on different circuits. The 2-way wiring supports control from two locations, such as opposite ends of a hallway or at top and bottom of stairs. Each gang operates via a push on/off action with rotary dimming, and the dimmer trims, mode switches, and resets are all accessed from the front control knob.

The dimmer ships preset in trailing-edge mode, which suits most modern LED fittings. If flicker or buzz occurs with specific LED bulbs, the front control knob allows a switch to leading-edge mode without removing the plate or re-wiring. Overload and overheat protection are built in, plus an inrush current limiter to handle the surge when dimmable LED or halogen bulbs are switched on. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The brushed chrome finish provides a satin metallic surface that resists fingerprints and pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Each dimmer gang must be used with dimmable lamps only, and Knightsbridge specifies that all lamps on a single gang must be the same brand, wattage, and type to avoid compatibility issues. Mixing different lamp brands or wattages on the same circuit can cause flicker, hum, or premature failure. Can I mix different LED bulb brands on one gang?
