Description

This ceramic mug says something kind before the kettle has even boiled, with the words "A Hug in a Mug" standing out from its white glazed body in chunky, raised 3D letters. Each letter is picked out in its own soft colour, from lilac, pink and sage to peach, teal and dusty blue, with little squiggles and sparks of colour scattered around them. Inside, the glaze turns a sunny yellow, and the handle curves out from the side as a rainbow in bands of pink, orange and yellow. It holds 500ml, a generous measure for a proper long tea or a big milky coffee, and stands 11.3cm tall, 9.7cm wide and 13cm deep.

We like it on the kitchen shelf, where its colours brighten the morning routine, or on a desk in a home office, where a 500ml mug means fewer trips to refill. It sits happily on a breakfast table set with mismatched pieces, on a slow weekend morning or a busy weekday. The message does the talking, so it works as a small gesture for anyone who could do with a little warmth, whether you hand it over with a pot of tea brewing or leave it by the kettle as a quiet surprise.

The mug is made from ceramic and finished in a glaze that gives the white body a soft sheen, while the raised letters add a texture you can feel as you hold it. The rainbow handle is a chunky loop that adds to the fun. To keep the glaze and the lettering looking their best, we suggest washing it gently by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth. For a cheerful gift, fill it with a few favourite teas or a bar of chocolate and tie a ribbon around the handle, or keep it for yourself and let it start your day on a bright note.
